The More the Merrier!

Its been a little over a month since we added little Rylan Jane to the family, and life has certainly been busy! But I must say that so far, the more the merrier! I love having 2 little babes to love on and to watch grow. Rylan had her 1 month checkup this week and she is right on track. At 7lbs 13oz and almost 21 inches she is a growing girl, but hard to believe she is still over a pound lighter than Keller was at BIRTH! She is still breastfeeding really well and starting to sleep on a loose schedule. Her big accomplishment this month was the FIRST SMILES! She smiles pretty regularly now, and although the doctor says its unprovoked, I like to think its been in response to mommy's voice ;)
The first week home was a little rough with Keller being sick, but now that he is back to his healthy self, we've started to get a sense of our "new normal". Keller is still absolutely loving being a big brother. He hugs and kisses Rylan every chance he gets. I'm waiting to the jealousy to arrive but so far so good! Its so cool to watch him lay down with her and just watch and play with her little feet. I can't wait for the day when she can start interacting with him! (well, maybe I can wait a little while, I do love having a teeny tiny!) We've started to scratch the surface of potty training with Keller in the last couple weeks, and so far so good! Keller also had his 1st real haircut this month :( I was a little sad about it, and probably wouldn't have done it had I not messed up the front with my scrapbook scissors…but he is still a cutie of course! He is changing and learning more every day, it is amazing to watch and sad at the same time. My little boy is growing up! He even had his first driving experience this month. He started driving the power wheels at UG's house and although he's a little shaky, he love love loves it! He has also made a new (sort of) best buddy….Connor! I think both boys have finally reached ages where they really enjoy hanging out together. Keller loves all his cousins but if you mention the name Connor, you better be heading to his house to play!
Rylan Jane has definitely been out and about more than Keller was at 5 weeks old. I guess that's just the way it goes when you're the 2nd child. Mostly she has spent time in the carrier close to me so she isn't exposed too much, but I'm definitely looking forward to the warmer weather and less sickness around! She celebrated her first big holidays, St.Patty's Day at UG's house and Easter at Granny's. She spent both holidays sleeping mostly, but looking adorable none the less ;)
