What a Zoo!

We took Keller on his first trip to the zoo a couple weeks ago, and what an awesome day it was! First, it was great to take little bug down to our old stomping grounds. We drove by our old (but still owned by us) house and all was well. While we both miss living in the city and East Atlanta itself, we also know that's not where life is currently taking us….but going back for visits is the best!
We went to the zoo first to try and avoid any heat leftover from the summer, but we lucked out and had a gorgeous fall-ish day. Keller loved looking at all of the animals of course, and making each animal sound too. I think we got some awesome pictures of the animals, but not many of Keller! He always had his back to us just checking out the creatures. I can't believe its taken us this long to get him down there, but he is definitely at a great age to really enjoy the zoo. After checking out all of the big animals and the snake house (which I could have passed on but Daddy and Keller were loving some reptiles!), we took Keller to the petting zoo. I'm pretty skeptical of these things being all public health mama, but fortunately Keller had no interest in actually petting the sheep or goats. He just ran around the fenced in area in circles like an animal! But either way, there was lots of hand washing and anti-bacterial soap going on after that!
After the zoo we went to the Matador in Glenwood Park, Sean and I's favorite mexican place in the area. I got my usual and it was still just as good as I remembered (and Baby Girl loved it too!). Keller was hilarious just dipping chips and sucking off the salsa… that's my boy! After mexican we had to top off the afternoon with the best ice cream ever from Morellis in East Atlanta. Its a good thing I am not preggers living down there or I would be in serious trouble. We all had their newest concoction… biscoffee ice cream. Its coffee ice cream and biscotti cookies….AH-MAZ-ING! (I'm obviously pregnant as I could write about this flavor forever!). Keller crashed on the way home of course, but it was one awesome day. Sean and I got to reminisce and also show Keller all of our favorite spots. We will definitely make a point to take Keller and all future munchkins downtown more often, such a treat!

This is the running around screaming like an animal while in the petting zoo ;)
