ONE

11 Months
Yep, one. That's the word of the week around our house. I honestly cannot believe my little love bug is turing one in just two days. I've got the day off today so Keller and I are spending the day together, and  I am just trying to soak up every last ounce of him being an "infant"(sneaking in a blog update during his nap).  Though, I can already see the little crazy toddler inside of him beginning to break out. Over the weekend we gave him cow's milk in a sippy cup with a snack instead of one of his bottles. He did just fine and did not seem to miss the bottle at all. I'm happy about that since we are going to make the full switch from formula and bottles to milk and sippy cups on his birthday. Just another sign of him growing up :( Aunt Charlene weighed Keller last week while babysitting to do a comparison with his 2 year old cousin, Connor. Turns out Keller is just 3 lbs lighter (25lbs)! We'll get all the latest measurements next week when we go to the doc for his 1 year check-up. Keller is walking well behind push toys and will walk holding on to just one of mommy's hands. I imagine the first real steps will be coming in the next couple weeks. Didn't he just start crawling yesterday? People tell you before  you have a baby that the time goes by so quickly, but that doesn't prepare you for the true disappearance of the time, its dumbfounding! Oh, and his latest word is "Dog". Shocker...

Since the last post we had the most amazing Christmas. It is a whole different story with a little one around. We went to church and then out for Hibachi (a tradition from my side of the family that we've decided to hold on to). The last time he was at hibachi he was 5 weeks old and slept through it all. This time around he was pretty amazed. He just kept staring at the chef like "this is awesome man". Even the fire part didn't scare him. I love having such a laid back and "go with the flow" baby. I just hope he stays this way through his toddlerhood! We celebrated Christmas with the McCarthy family the weekend before, then had Christmas morning with Santa's presents at our house, then went on to UG's and Aunt Charlene's for more food, fun, and gifts with the Lewis side. By the end, Keller was starting to really get the hang of opening presents. Though, he was still pretty much enthralled with the paper. He should be ready to go this weekend at his 1st birthday party!

Here is Keller's first visit with Santa. At first he was doing pretty well, that's until the elf lady kept ringing a bell and trying to get him to smile. At which point, he lost it :(
