Well we are in the midst of the holiday season. We recently celebrated both Halloween and Thanksgiving, and we are getting ready for Christmas! I am pretty much a fan of all holidays but I think Thanksgiving is my favorite. No worries about gift giving, just a time to be with family and of course eat good food! I think Keller may be following in my footsteps as far as that goes. He was a trooper while we were in Blue Ridge for our traditional Thanksgiving weekend at Grandma's house. It was a nut-house with 4 little boys running around and 1 little boy crawling around (that's right, Keller is crawling, and ALL over the place!). We went on a hike and also had craft time with Aunt Natty to make the centerpieces (something I am afraid may become a tradition!). Although its crazy, its also ton of fun and I wouldn't change a thing! Besides enjoying time with the family, we had a fantastic
meal as usual. Sean and I did our best to keep Keller content as we pushed back his nap so he could make it to the meal, and I am so glad we did! Keller was all about the food (no surprise there), but it was too cute to see him squeezing mashed potatoes between his fingers and diving in for the turkey. He really enjoyed it and I was so glad to have him at the big long table with everyone else having his 1st Thanksgiving!
Keller was a dinosaur for Halloween (and looked so so cute I might add!). He ended up being able to squeeze into the costume I had bought him at a consignment sale ($5!). Since Bug typically goes to bed around 7, I expected Halloween to be pretty uneventful, but he made it till 830! We went to Aunt Charlene's and UG's to show off our costume and take pictures with the cousins. Then helped Mama, Dada, and the neighbors hand out candy. I think watching all of the kids run around in costumes (which didn't scare him at all!) kept him pretty entertained and therefore happy!

Now that Thanksgiving has ended, it's Christmas time! I am one of those people who does not celebrate the holiday season until that season has officially begun! (eh hem, Christmas decor out before Halloween?!?!). But, I do love Christmas so we wasted no time went shopping for our tree as soon as we got back from Blue Ridge. I was pretty excited to take my love bug to search for his 1st Christmas tree. We first went to Cagle's farm, which I had been told from multiple sources was a great place to go. But we were pretty disappointed with the selection. So we went back to our local
Pike's. That's where we went last year and had success, so figured why not. Keller was impressed for sure. I strolled him through the trees and he reached out to touch every one (made my heart smile). We were leaning towards a Noble fir, but for budgets sake, went with the tried and true Fraiser. We got the tree up and decorated that night. I've spent the last week getting the rest of our decorations up and we'll get the outside lights up this weekend.

Spending these holidays with Keller has been awesome. Though he is young, he is old enough have his eyes light up when he sees kids in costumes, or a big plate of food, or Christmas trees. That in itself has been the best of all the holidays, just seeing Keller experience them for himself and already find joy in all of them, at just under 1 year old. I am looking forward to the rest of this month and all of the preparations and celebrations of Christmas…. visiting Santa Claus, shopping, wrapping, and spending time with family and friends. All of it is truly wonderful with my little family!
